Sydney Merritt-Brown is a Jamaican-American Photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. with a BA in Photography and Theater and Performance from Bard College.
Raised in the vibrant cultural scene of Miami, FL, Sydney is drawn to fashion and how it can be a memory map to uncover lost histories within Food Politics, Caribbean Diasporic archives, and Identity.
Her creative direction is rooted in utilizing the body as the foundation of her portraiture and how it can be used as a site for experimentation and innovation that also brings to life the visceral expression of still images.
